My teaching focus is on blended learning, flipped classroom, and e-learning formats. Having started my teaching career at the beginning of the pandemic, I have since taught multiple online courses, redesigned the introductory course to diachronic linguistics Variation & Change for Bachelor of Arts CELLS at the University of Mannheim as a flipped classroom e-learning format, and fine-tuned my use of learning portfolios as an innovative evaluation method which promotes student's reflection on their learning journey and outcomes.
I believe that my role as a teacher is to provide structure to my student's learning process and provide learning experiences where students can grapple with theoretical concepts, contextualize knowledge and cultivate attitudes towards learning concepts.
Topics I have been interested in recently and which I hope to be able to dig deeper into in the future are the role of storytelling in teaching as a method to enable students to engage more deeply with the learning materials and the use of agile methods in the classroom and for facilitating student project management.

Resources for Teaching
At our chair, an important teaching resource is the Toolbox Anglistik IV, which can be found here on the website of the University of Mannheim.
As a methodological companion to the courses I teach at the University of Mannheim, I recommend the entries on working with etymological dictionaries like the Oxford English Dictionary (OED).
